Its been a while since Americans were paying under $3 for a gallon of gas without using reward points or some other kind of discount. You may be seeing prices starting with a 2 in the near future.
Typically, we see a decrease in prices at the pump during the Fall months. That isn’t all that will be causing the lower gallon price. The global oil prices have been falling.
According to Tom Kloza, chief oil analyst at the Oil Price Information Service the average is already below $3 in multiple big cities in the US. By the end of the year, up to 30 states could have average gas prices below the $3 mark.
